Night at the Theatre: Serial Blackface by Janine Na
Took myself to a night at the theatre at the Alliance back in the fall and really enjoyed myself. I went to see a reading of Serial Blackface by Janine Nabers directed by the one and only Jasmine Guy. It's so funny how I think that I'm going somewhere by myself but end up leaving with new friends. That's why I like doing DateYourselfGirl because I am never really alone. I am either approached by someone or run into someone I already know. Ladies, I'm here to remind you that you are not alone even when it feels that way. Don't sit at home waiting for Superman to sweep you off your feet because Superman doesn't exist and definitely don't sit around moping about the relationship that didn't work out. There is a big world out there and lots of places to be explored so find somehting that you've been wanting to do and DO IT! I'm actually headed back to the Alliance TONIGHT to see Blues for an Alabama Sky by Pearl Cleage! She's one of my favorite playwrights and this is the only play of hers that I haven't either performed in or seen so I'm really excited.
If you are in the Atlanta area go to the Alliance Theatre and check our Blues for an Alabama Sky by Pearl Cleage directed by Artistic Director, Susan V. Booth. Running April 15, 2015 to May 10, 2015!
